Create Arts Online is excited to present Kellie Newsome's “Vibrant Still-Life with Strawberries” online course.
Kellie is sponsored by Chroma Atelier Interactive paints and she will explain why these paints are her brand of choice. Kellie will discuss her preferred painting surfaces or "substrates" as well as how to prepare the substrate for painting. She will also discuss using Prismacolor color pencils for adding variety and energy in your artwork. Your tools are an important part of the process, and Kellie will suggest where to splurge and where you can save. Some of this information is bonus material not covered in her live workshops.
Kellie will show you how she prepares her workspace, and how she warms up for painting. She will also show you how she sets up every detail of her still-life from lighting techniques to deciding on the composition.
Watch from an "over-hands" perspective as Kellie demonstrates her signature techniques from start to finish, from blank surface to a completed painting.
This course includes two additional bonuses not covered in her live workshops. First, she will demonstrate how to use white to create glazing effects. Then Kellie will demonstrate how to varnish your paintings for a professional finish that makes your artwork even more rich and full of life.
This course includes a downloadable PDF that lists all of the tools, materials, and resources used in this "Vibrant Still-Life with Strawberries" course.
Your Instructor
Kellie was born in Columbus, Georgia and grew up on a small farm in Eufaula, Alabama where she spent most of her time outside and creating at an early age. Kellie attended and graduated from Troy University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. In college, Kellie focused on painting and print- making, and enjoyed combining materials in her work. Kellie began working for Chroma’s Atelier Interactive brand of paint while attending college and continues to work for them today as their representative to the South-East United States. Working for the paint company keeps her in direct contact with large art suppliers and allows her to have the opportunity to try new materials of all brands.
Kellie is an exciting and dynamic artist and teacher that will change the way you look at painting. Her works of art seem to jump off the canvas with stunning texture, vibrant color, and vitality. Currently she specializes in a range of works on canvas, wood, and paper.
