If you answered yes then this is the course for you. In this course Patti pulls out all the stops on her version of creating a unique storytelling project that is very achievable and gratifying. Using text as texture is a great way of building a foundation for artistic backgrounds. It can be used for collage, watercolor, acrylics, and more. Text is also a great way to add focal points with numbers, words, and messages.
In this course you will learn:
- Patti’s favorite supplies and materials
- How to prep your substrate
- How absorbent ground can make your substrate a watercolor paper like surface
- How to plan your grid and transfer it to the substrate
- How to make design decisions that create a cohesive composition
- How to select the printed stylized papers that inspire each project
- How to apply ephemera, stencils, stamps, numbers, words, inks, and embellishments
- Watercolor blocking
- Stamping on tissue paper
- How to use molding paste and stencils
- Patti’s three favorite adhesives for each of the materials
Creating a ‘Text Me' project can be created on vacation or in your studio, with children, or in a group setting. There are no limits to the design, theme, or size of each one. Once you learn Patti’s tried and true methods she has honed over years of creating her 'Text Me' storyboard projects you will have the confidence and skills to create them as gifts or add to your collection.
