Create Arts Online is delighted to present Laurie Mika’s online course “Polymer Triptych: Crafted by Hand.”

Laurie is an award winning artist. She has taught thousands of students how to create with polymer clay, and now she is bringing her signature techniques to Create Arts Online.

In this course Laurie will take you step-by-step through the ways to create your own Polymer Triptych. Laurie creates these Polymer Triptychs as the substrate, so you no longer need to search for that perfect board or object. In this course, you will learn how to create your own.

Laurie starts with instruction on how to condition her favorite clay. She then describes how to roll the clay out for the best results, followed by a description of her favorite tools to use in this part of the process.

Once your clay is rolled out the fun begins! Laurie pulls out all the stops by sharing her techniques for stamping the clay with unique and beautiful rubber stamps. Then she demonstrates how to apply both gold and silver leaf.

Laurie is best known for creating beautifully antiqued polymer clay art. In this course she shares all of her tips and tricks through the use of a variety of paints, mica powders, and wax based rubs for creating these unique and easy to achieve effects.

One of the best parts of this course is watching Laurie work. As she makes choices throughout the creative process, you can watch her work from a birds-eye view. This course is like having Laurie by your side 24/7 as she teaches and guides you in creating your very own Polymer Triptych.

Learning Laurie’s techniques will give you limitless ways to create with polymer clay, and help you to make your own substrates.

This course comes with a PDF for download with all the tools, materials, and resources, as well as a step by step guide that you can print.
